Position Overview

Monk’s Hill Ventures, an early-stage tech venture capital firm who invest in founders and companies who will transform millions of lives, has an immediate opening for an Events and Community Associate.  

The Events and Community Associate will be part of the Communications and Marketing team and will work closely with the team to build brand and community engagement programs across the different markets we operate in. This is an opportunity for a self-driven communications and marketing professional at a leading venture capital firm investing in the best entrepreneurs building the next iconic companies in their industries. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Partners, the investment team and portfolio companies. Looking for someone who is proactive and willing to roll their sleeves up. We are also looking for someone with a passion for tech.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the communications and marketing team on strategy, planning and execution of events and campaigns
  • Drive marketing events – design, produce and manage events including community events, media events, portfolio workshops, and networking receptions; ensure good feedback loop backed by data and insight
  • Drive speaking engagements – pitch for events, vet event requests, and respond to external speaking inquiries, support on speaker prep, and invite speakers as needed
  • Community building – building new relationships with startup ecosystem and deepening existing relationships
  • Community content - developing and deliver content for community engagement including event write-ups, blogs, newsletters and other updates
  • Support on website updates, content development, media program
  • Manage database, reporting and lists – this includes portfolio, media and other relevant networks

Ideal Candidate Background

  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in agency or startup
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience including campaigns, large events and key programs
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, a team player, mature, ability to mono-task, planning and organization
  • Proven media relations experience and existing relationships with key media a plus
  • Strong experience working with Illustrator, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, PowerPoint and/or Keynote a plus
