Introduction

Across Asia, millions of people find themselves unable to access proper care for traditionally stigmatized health conditions due to cultural norms, inconvenience and cost.

These conditions range from sexual health conditions, hair loss, contraception, smoking cessation, weight loss, mental health and many others. These unaddressed health conditions aggregate into a very large underserved market that needs to be solved for the benefit of these patients and consumers.

The most common care options are either public health or private-pay consultations where patients often find it difficult to discuss or find adequate coverage due to the stigma attached to the conditions that they may have. Patients resort to alternative remedies, which may have inadequate quality control or personalization to their requirements.

Today, we are excited to announce our investment in Ordinary Folk. Ordinary Folk is a digital healthcare startup that engages and connects patient care across its service lines, especially for stigmatized conditions. Ordinary Folk radically changes how healthcare is provided for these conditions, making healthcare more inclusive, personal, and accessible.

Ordinary Folk’s full-stack telehealth platform integrates its consumer brands (Noah and Zoey), distributed compliant medical network, electronic medical record (EMR), and cloud pharmacy. Noah and Zoey are two consumer brands for men and women respectively, operating as an umbrella for its private label products designed to address individual health conditions. Ordinary Folk also facilitates digital consultation between patients and its medical partners network, which enables patients to receive therapeutics prescriptions digitally. Patients can easily obtain the prescribed therapeutics from Ordinary Folk cloud pharmacy. The entire patient care journey in Ordinary Folk is then recorded conveniently through its EMR feature, protecting the patients’ privacy whilst ensuring the compliance of its practice.

Founded in 2020, Ordinary Folk has continued to grow rapidly. The platform has attracted over a million unique visitors and has grown over 130% annually. Ordinary Folk has successfully entered Singapore and Hong Kong, and will continue expanding to many more key cities in the coming years.
